I have been in a rut for a while but have no fear. It's all coming back. Work is a bit of a downer these days, but I'm enjoying artistic things: cooking, sewing and such. My most recent project (other than the tomato pie in the oven) is sewing curtains for the master bedroom and living room. Mary Jo's in Gaffney, SC is one of the best places to buy fabric. If you're ever close by, stop in for a visit. The people there are very knowledgeable and helpful. My wedding dress fabric was purchased there, and it turned out wonderfully in my opinion.
So the whole reason for sewing my own curtains is because I figured I could have much nicer ones if I did them myself. That is assuming I don't screw them up somehow. This tutorial helped a lot though. I have one panel pretty much done, and no catastrophe occurred that I'm aware of yet. Once they're complete and hanging, I'll share pictures, but here is a sneak peak of the one panel for the bedroom. Yes, it's on the bed, so it looks like a comforter a little. The fabric would be nice for one though. Don't you think??
Also, I have been inspired by this post by Momichka to make a paper butterfly. Long story short, my mom is a school psychologist, and I'm going to paint her a "sign" that says, "keep talking, I'm diagnosing you" to put the butterfly on. Anyway, this is what I have so far...
Well, that pretty much updates you on my life - the artsy side anyway.
Cheers!
